ABOUT ME

I’m Shawn Smith, a Tucson-based multimedia designer, animator, and videographer with experience creating visual content across commercial, digital, and entertainment media.

For the past several years, I’ve worked within Tucson’s cannabis industry, developing creative work for established local brands and dispensaries like D2 Dispensaries and iLAVA Farm + Factory. My role has covered nearly every stage of production, including branding, graphic design, product photography, video production, motion graphics, web content, packaging, print materials, advertising, and social media campaigns.

Working in a fast-moving and highly regulated industry has taught me how to balance creativity with clear communication, technical requirements, tight deadlines, and brand consistency. I’m comfortable taking a project from its earliest concept through production and final delivery, whether I’m directing a commercial, designing a campaign, building an animation, or solving a last-minute production problem.

Outside of my commercial work, I’m an independent animator and filmmaker with a particular interest in character-driven storytelling. I write, design, animate, edit, and produce original projects that combine traditional visual influences with modern digital production techniques. That independent work has shaped the way I approach everything I create: with personality, intention, and close attention to how an idea is communicated through movement, composition, sound, and design.

My background crosses several disciplines, but the connecting thread is storytelling. Whether the project is a branded campaign, an animated short, a product video, or a visual identity, my goal is to create work that is clear, memorable, and made with genuine craft.
